in response to Starshine...   Well considering we have 2 dogs & 2 cats, I don't think he'll be giving in anytime soon. Lol. Our house has always been full of animals, but we reached new heights starting in 09, & it seemed like there was no let up. In 2009 we had Gracie *my first CockerSpaniel, now deceased of a heart problem. She was an elderly dog though, so she had a good life.* We had Duke Senior *my sister's first dog who is also deceased now, was hit by a car intentionally. Horrible people!* I also had Snowball Cat *deceased of a heart problem*, & KittyKitty. Although in 2009 they still belonged to my sister. Plus we had Tigger Cat our family cat, who is now in the geriatric stage of life. Anyway, so that was a total of 5 animals! 2 dogs & 3 cats. Then after Grace, Duke Senior & Snowball died, we had only 2 cats left. We were miserable though & couldn't bear not having our animals. I wasn't owned by any pet at the time, Becca was still owned by KittyKitty & Dad had Tigger. So I got Sadie, another CockerSpaniel. Becca got Duke Junior, & I got Coco, I was going to a school for the blind at the time, Becca was supposedly moving out with Duke Junior, & I didn't want Sadie to be alone, so I got Coco, from the same litter of puppies as Duke Junior. However, when I came home from the school, it turned out Becca hadn't moved out & I couldn't handle having Coco. Duke & Coco are both big dogs. Their mixed breeds of German Shepherd, Hound & Golden Retrievers among other things. So I gave Coco back to her original owner. So then there was KittyKitty, Sadie, Duke & Tigger. Since then it's just been KittyKitty *who now belongs to me, bc Becca can't take care of her & Duke Junior*, so I've got KittyKitty & Sadie, & Dad has Tigger & Becca has Duke Junior. So when Dot *The kitten has a dot on her paw & that's why she's been named Dot* came into our lives today, Dad was enraged. Lol. He was just like 'We had 5 animals, went down to 2, then back up to 5, then back down to 4, & now we've got 5 again! I SAID NO MORE ANIMALS! Why don't you people listen to me?'
Lol. So I guarantee you I'll have to give Dot up, though she's the most beautiful kitten I've ever seen next to KittyKitty.

Hi MichelleMB6

You are welcome so much. I am chuckling. I am glad your sister took in the baby kitten and she has been to the vet even though the bill was high. Your knew kitten will love you for rescuing her and hopefully your dad will melt as time passes to know how important it is for you and your sister to have this kitty. They give so much love in return and companionship...I am happy I could have helped and enjoy your new kitten. By the way, what did you name the new kitty??

Hugs

 in response to Starshine...   Starshine,
Thank you soooo much!! You have no idea what a miracle this is! Today, my sister brought home a baby kitten, between 4 & 5 weeks old. My Dad is adamant that there WILL BE no more animals in "his" house! So he doesn't know that I forked over the last $40 I had for the month to get her into the vet. So much for "extra money" I thought I'd have this month! We've rigged it right now so that the cat carrier is in my room under my bed. I'll sneak Dot *kitten's name bc my sister said she has a dot on her paw* into my room so she won't get to cold & sneak her back out in the morning before Dad wakes up. If it gets to hot during the day I'll sneak her in so she doesn't get overheated. It isn't the greatest plan, but the only one I've been able to work out at the moment. I already contacted Mid Michigan Cat Rescue, but they aren't taking in anymore cats & if it's an emergency & they have to take the cat their charging a hefty fee for it. She's on meds bc she had fleas & drainage from her nose/eye, that's why we took her in today. We could have gone to our vet & it would have only cost $22, but they couldn't get her in until Friday. I didn't know what kind of eye infection she had & I told my sister I know what it's like being blind, I certainly don't want her going blind! Turns out it was minor, but she is underweight. So anyway, we had to go to a different vet & they charged $67.50 bc they'd never seen any of our pets before. Argh!
So anyway, as I said, miracle of miracle that you posted this cuz I need it!! She's got kitten food & is all taken care of for now, but I know eventually Dad's gonna blow his top. He was NOT happy to see her in my room this afternoon. It rained so we had to bring her inside.

Praise the Lord everybody... I am not asking for much here today except for the prayer partners on here to touch and agree on a few things in my life.... I would just like for you to pray for me with my health... I have a few things going on and i would like prayer... I lift up the people on aidpage that are in need that whatever you want and whatever is a necessity need in your life that God meets it...That if it is financial you be blessed with the money and it is used for the purpose of your needs... If it is a healing i pray for you as well that God touches your body and that the blood of Jesus drips from the head to the toe covering you and the healing process is beginning to take place....If you have never tried God for yourself and not just trying him for needs but getting to know and having a relationship with him regardless to what is going on in your life the good and the bad i encourage you to confess the wrong doings in life... that u r a sinner and that you want to be saved... salvation is the key.... knowing and having Jesus as your savior coming into your life is an awesome feeling... he will make your life over....brand new.... you maynot and u may see an instant transformation but know this one thing...God loves you no matter what...or who u are....so i pray for you and plz pray for me....that whatever is happening in my life i still have the strength that God gives me to deal with it... that God keeps me balanced in life...thank you very much.....

Hello and I have plenty of advice. First of all out here in CA it is illegal to dump animals somewhere. If you took them in then you are responsible for them. I don't know if this link will help as it is for homeless and almost homeless people

 http://pets-of-the-homeless.starshine1.aidpage.com/

and another alternative is

http://no-kill-animal-shelter-directory-list-by-state.starshine1.aidpage.com/

And here is a list of pet food banks. You can see if one is near you.

 http://pikespeakpetpantry.org/pb/wp_fdw325vh.html

Contact your local Petco for adoption days for the cats and ask each of the above and Petco about low cost spay and neuter programs and get them fixed. The local humane society last resort for a low cost spay and neuter fees but pets are destroyed daily as too many of them have no home

 http://muttcats.com/shelters/texas.htm

The above a list of pet shelters and animal rescue organizations. Make sure it is a no kill shelter they go to... thank you

Starshine and good luck

Hello and it is great to see the responses to all the Aidmates who try their best to help people.

I like to know what happen to the American Dream too. I know people who seem to be doing fine and others that use to be doing well they are struggling with parents who are ill, aunts and helping their children and grandkids out. Many more are having a hard time than before. But you keep looking for work whereever you can find it or to share a house with others for example nationalsharedhousing.org. Have a better evening and hope you keep the lights on.
