I am one of the many people that has been faced with unemployment, that was directly related to the recent economic turn. I have had the pleasant act of conversing with workforce service employee's, prospective employers, college educators, and recruiters. Now, I must say that I am fairly facetious, I get the fun task of finding a position out of my area of specialty. Yeahhhh!!!!
Ok, that said, I live in a state where the unemployment is lower than the rest of the country, however, growth is also lower than the rest of the country. I am also in a location that is completely saturated with masters and doctorate candidates looking for positions in my pay range. Now, I as an employer, would look for an employee that I could keep around for a while and not an employee that will bolt when they find a new job befitting their education and experience. Can you believe that I went out for a systems administrator position and the candidate that I lost out to had a masters degree and was previously a Vice President incharge of operations. OPERATIONS!!! He wasn't up to speed with current technologies or systems, however, the company that I interviewed with wanted to leverage his expertise and apparently didn't mind falling behind on their infrastructure.
Ok, anyways, I am frustrated at our economy, and to be completely honest, I feel that the president is getting a raw deal from all of these different groups that are saying that he's not getting the job done. I mean, there are three branches to our government. The judicial upholds the law, and actually anymore appears to be defining and creating new president which in layman terms, is creating law. That's a different soap box. You have the Executive branch, which is the president. He is charged with running the country and armed services. He gets to play boss, kind of like a CEO of a multinational conglomerate, that still has to do what the board of directors tell him/her. The board of directors, of course, is the Legislative branch. They are mandated at creating and proposing new laws and being a complete pain in the butt to the American People.
Now, this is something that I have never hid from anybody, I must say that I do not like our current party structure. Well, I don't like politicians to be honest with you. Their sole job is to do the bidding of their constituents, however, anymore, they have been voting their conscience. They need to be listening to the majority of their citizens and voting accordingly, however, in their god complex way, they feel that we are wrong and they vote their own way. Now when I say their own way, I mean they vote for what their major contributors, those with great political captial, or special interest groups with money propose. We the people have the right to petition our governemtn, but will that actually work for us? NO, as if I brought a signed petition with 25000 names on it, the issue will be relegated to chapter 13 because they fear a small group of people will hire an attorney and sue, which will cost more money to litigate that it will to simply bury the request that 25000 people signed. Now take that and multiply it by 1000, and that is what is happening in our government today. There may be a movement that 250 million people have signed off on, however, a group of 15 people may sue citing that it may bother them, and the rest of us have to pay. I wish that people would remember that life isn't easy, and the only way that we can get through all of this, is to work together, for the collective good.
Thanks for the soap box.
I sure will be glad when I can stop having these flares.Get the treatment & get back to myself.I've been getting headaches today & tingling throughout. My hand & arm won't stop feeling numb,I really hate this.Thru all of this though I have been learning a few things on how we maybe able to conquer MS if I can get it to work. My idea makes sense & some of the ways of putting it together I learned from a distant uncle.
When i feel down i read anything and everything. I feel that through others lives i can get a different prespective on what i am going through. You say He does not know what I am going through. Well before you say that let me say that on the way to getting disability, I sletp in the woods in a barrel in 20 degree weather for three months. So in saying that this is for you guys having a hard time i feel your pain.
The object of art is to give life a shape. [Midsummer Nights Dream]
I can't work without a model. I won't say I turn my back on nature ruthlessly in order to turn a study into a picture, arranging the colors, enlarging and simplifying; but in the matter of form I am too afraid of departing from the possible and the true.
Vincent Van Gogh
Crazy and cutting his ear off he still managed to give us his work and make a mark from a crazy house.
Without poets, without artists, men would soon weary of nature's monotony. The sublime idea men have of the universe would collapse with dizzying speed. The order which we find in nature, and which is only an effect of art, would at once vanish. Everything would break up in chaos. There would be no seasons, no civilization, no thought, no humanity; even life would give way, and the impotent void would reign everywhere.
Art the end result of perception, wisdom, intelligence, discipline, hard work, passion, luck, accident, and coincidence.
Much of modern art is devoted to lowering the threshold of what is terrible. By getting us used to what, formerly, we could not bear to see or hear, because it was too shocking, painful, or embarrassing, art changes morals.
